Most of you know that I have a little boy, named Iain (I refer to him as E) and he is 16 months old. I tend to talk about things I love. The one thing I was always told when I was pregnant was, "Just wait, you'll never have time for anything after you have him." I semi-ignored them. I really don't know what I was thinking. I just figured, I'm really driven, so I'll probably do just fine. NO. This was not the case. I don't think people realize how much kids change your life until a kid changes your life. There really isn't anything to do but hold on tight.
I've always loved fashion, so I like to have trendy accessories. This is how that has changed:
- I love heels. I use to wear these until I knew I'd have to react in a split second. I definitely wear my Toms a lot more than I have in the past. Also, all my boots are now flats.
- The cellphone case on the left is the one I use now, but I would have ONLY used this one before E. You wouldn't believe how excited I was when I found this little gem on the right. Yes, that's an iphone in the middle. If I get a call ,and it's in this case, I will take it. Even in public. No pride.
- My metal charmed necklaces soon turned into "Chewbeads" because metal is like paper towel in a toddlers hand, I learned that the hard way.
- My bag started to fill with diapers, bottles, and toys. Clutches are only for special occasions (like girls night- which I need weekly). P.S. I love my Amy Kathryn diaper bag
Although those accessories wouldn't have even crossed my mind two years ago, I love my new style. Fashionista... mom.
Working has even changed- even though my processing time has increased from 3 weeks to 1! This is what usually happens:
I've realized I have to work twice as hard as my peers, but you know what, I wouldn't have it any other way.
