Indiana Statehouse Wedding | Ryan & Emma

Jennifer Van Elk

Ryan has always been a dear friend to Steve and me. We met in college when Ryan was a freshman. Ryan was always surrounded by friends because, immediately after you meet him, you feel like you've known him forever. It's hard not to like Ryan. When we found out he was dating someone, we knew she had to be special. Emma is sweet, deep, and beautiful inside and out. She's a very classy gal. They are a really good match.

Ryan and Emma met while working for The Jesus Film in Orlando. They are doing wonderful things with The Jesus Film, which is why I'm okay with them living so far away from us. Hopefully many Indiana visits are in their future, or we'll just have to go to Disney World every year as an excuse to see them.

Their wedding ceremony was held at the Indiana Statehouse. It's gorgeous. The perfect place for an elegant wedding ceremony. The late evening start meant there was a perfect romantic ambiance for their wedding. During the day, the light makes the venue look like it is outdoors. It really is one of my favorite locations for wedding ceremonies.

The reception was rustic and vintage. The tablescapes were very creative. They were a great inspiration on how to transform a conference hall into a beautiful rustic wedding reception. The bride came in a wheel barrel pushed by the groom (a wedding tradition from the brides side). We had so much fun, and enjoyed their dessert hors d'oeuvres. I love having lots of choices when it comes to food, so this was probably one of my favorite spreads. You can't go wrong with mini desserts in my mind.

We wish the two of them nothing but happiness and love. Congrats, Ryan & Emma!

The Bride and Bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready in the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.

On top of their amazing selection of the food, the decor was adorable. I loved this Tea cup tower!

It's tradition for the men of the bride's family to turn the groom upside down and shake all things/money out of his pockets to give to the bride. It was hilarious to watch.
