{Wedding: Emily and Chris} Kiss Me, I'm Irish

admin

Emily and Chris had a wonderful October wedding.  The weather was perfect and the trees were a beautiful shade of yellow.  Their revealing location was at a local covered bridge.  The scenery was very beautiful. After the wedding party portraits, Emily and Chris stayed back with us to explore and take a few more pictures of them. The ceremony was held at the Michigantown Christian Church. The stringed lights and stained glass gave off a wonderful and romantic ambiance. After the ceremony was over, Emily and Chris exited the church as their guest waved ribbon wands in excitement for the new Mr and Mrs.  My favorite part of the evening was the send-off on the hay wagon, very festive and creative.  The wedding party seemed to be having a blast as it took off.

The reception started off with a bit of commotion because of a table assignment confusion, but everything was fixed within minutes.  One thing I've learned from my own wedding and by shoot many, not everything goes as planned, be optimistic, brush it off, and enjoy your party. That is exactly what they did.  Soon after the dinner, Chris and Emily danced their first dance that was very entertaining.  They started off with a slow classic ballroom dance.  The music stopped abruptly, and the couple looked confused. Seconds later they were doing a hip hop choreographed dance.  It was so fun to shoot.  What a fun couple!

The groom's family comes from an Irish background.  After an initiation of Emily into the family at the rehearsal, the wedding couple wore white shashes with "O'Connell" across the front, while the rest of the family wore green ones.  They danced an Irish jig right after all the traditional dances that the guest just loved.

The reception ended with wish lanterns.  Groups of people each had one large wish lantern and sent them off sporadically.  It was very beautiful and, well, exciting because a tree almost caught on fire.... twice.  It was a wonderful way to end the night.

Thank you so much for letting be part of your beautiful day! Emily and Chris, were so wonderful to work with and I had a blast! Best wishes!
